This is a 15 minute end of year assembly which could last up to 30 minutes. You can use the script if you need to narrate the PowerPoint or deliver it in-person. This assembly has some videos of hope embedded, some key points of the year, how to stay safe this summer and prepare for the upcoming year. This was originally a 15 minute assembly to Year 10 but can be used for any years from 7-13 (Ages 11-18). You can add some rewards on the end specific to your group or use just this to save yourself some time at the end of the year.
This is a different session that my other ‘Positivity’ session. It is suitable for KS3-KS4 (Years 7-11, Ages 11-16) for a 15 minute assembly, tutor time or PSHE session. It can also be lengthened easily to make a whole lesson. It includes why we need to and how we can remain positive, information, downloaded videos and a plenary quiz and some questions to finish. This is linked to the new RSE and Health Curriculum and the general PSHE curriculum but it can be used as a tutor time session or an assembly.
This is a 10-15 minute presentation about personal identity. It was originally a PSHE tutor time session for Year 7 but it is suitable for KS2-KS3 (Years 3 - 9 Ages 7-14). It covers what makes up an identity, gives students the opportunity to think about their own identity and includes a downloaded video so it will never disappear. There are no writing tasks, just discussion questions. It fits with the new RSHE or PSHE curriculum and is suitable for an assembly or whole school session.
This is a 10-15 minute session about organ donation which links in with the RSE and Health Curriculum for Secondary Schools. It can be used for an assembly, a tutor time session, a whole school event or a PSHE lesson. It can easily be lengthened to last a lesson and has been used successfully with KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Years 7-13, Ages 11-18) however it is also suitable for Upper KS2. It contains definitions, information, downloaded videos about what it is and the transplant process. It has a quiz plenary to ensure pupils’ understanding.
This is a 10-15 minute assembly, PSHE or tutor time session about sustainability. It covers what sustainability is and how we can live in a more sustainable way. It includes two downloaded video clips so they will never disappear and relevant discussion activities. There are no written tasks although it can easily be adapted to writing tasks and a longer full lesson. It was originally for a Year 9 PSHE tutor time session but is suitable for KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Years 7-13, Ages 11-18).
This is a 15 minute assembly or tutor time session for KS3 -KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13) which tackles the issue of suicide. It was originally a Year 10 PSHE session for tutor time. It includes why people commit suicide, what are the warning signs and what support is available to support people considering suicide or people who want to help someone else who is having suicidal thoughts. There are three short downloaded videos so they will never disappear and contains discussion activities and no written tasks. It would be easy to lengthen this issue to an hour with this resource using longer debates and written activities. This fits into the new RSHE and the PSHE curriculum and can also be used as a safeguarding session or a one-off whole school assembly.
This is a 15 minute assembly or tutor time PSHE session about privilege in society. This was originally a tutor time session for PSHE but the extension tasks and videos can be used to make a whole lesson for Citizenship or PSHE. It covers which groups in UK society are privileged, two downloaded video clips that will never disappear, definitions and ways to not let privilege define our lives. It also includes two extension downloaded video clips that could be used to make it long enough for a whole lesson. This fits in with the new RSHE and PSHE curriculum and was very successful when used at school. It is suitable for KS3, KS4 & KS5, Ages 11-18, Years 7-13.
This is a 15 minute tutor time session or assembly covering the mental health issue of clinical depression. It was originally a Yr 10 PSHE session for tutor time but can be used for all of KS3-KS5, Ages 11-18, Years 7-13. It contains strategies to cope, definitions, a slide of support groups to help students and some discussion activities. It contains a downloaded video clip so it will never disappear. This fits in with the new RSHE curriculum, Keeping Children Safe in Education and the PSHE curriculum.
This is a 15 minute assembly, tutor time session or PSHE session for KS4 and KS5 (Ages 14-18, Years 10-13) about the rights and responsibilities we have in the workplace. It contains discussion activities and information about how to treat people and how to be safe as well as the importance of both of these. It has three short downloaded video clips so they will never disappear and is a suitable introduction to the rights and responsibilities we have in the workplace. This fits in with the new RSHE curriculum, Gatsby Careers Benchmarks and the PSHE curriculum. It can easily be lengthened to last a whole lesson if needed.
This is a 10-15 minute assembly for Children in Need suitable for all year groups from Year 5 - Year 13 (KS2, KS3, KS4, KS5, Ages 9-18) and can be used for an assembly, tutor time session, whole school, PSHE or Citizenship session. It can easily be lengthened by changing the discussion activities to written ones for it to last a whole lesson. There is a short youtube clip which is downloaded so it will never disappear. It is narrated but you can delete this by clicking on the icon and pressing delete. It covers what Children in Need is, who it helps, how and why to help. It also shows the connection with a slide on Fundamental British Values, the UN Rights of a Child and a point of Reflection. There are links to the news and other extension activities looking at quotes which teachers can use or students can have as an extension activity on an online platform or for homework. This is a 10-15 minute assembly for Epilepsy Awareness Day in March 2022. It can also be easily adapted to be used at any other time of the year to raise awarness of epilepsy in your school.

This is a powerpoint that lasts 15 minutes which can be used from KS2 to KS5 to go through the important topic of Fake News with students. It involves no writing, just discussion questions and videos to give the students a snapshot of fake news in tutor time or a short session. Fake news is part of the new Relationships & Sex Education& Health Education curriculum and also includes a plenary quiz at the end. The videos are downloaded and there are no writing tasks. This can be used for a tutor time session, a PSHE or Citizenship lesson or as a whole school assembly.
This was a PSHE session for tutor time for KS3-5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13) which is 10- 15 minutes long and contains videos, discussions and important messages for students about different religious and cultural practices and diversity. This could be used as part of the diversity element of the PSHE and Citizenship programme or could be used as an assembly. The students responded well to this session. There are no written activities and it includes a quiz to check learning and two downloaded videos that will never disappear. One video is about religious festivals and the other about non-religious festivals. This session could easily be lengthened to create a whole lesson for RE on the importance of festivals.
This is a 15-20 minute assembly or PSHE tutor time session for KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13) about social media. It goes through the legal restrictions of different platforms, the advantages and disadvantages of social media and the addiction it can cause. This is a comprehensive list of all of the online free training courses available for staff to improve their knowledge about topics in the new RSE and Health Curriculum and aid their teaching of PSHE and Citizenship. Each training course has their website, their relevance, timings etc so it is a full list which can be used in a staff training session or put on the Staff online area for people to access throughout the year to complete extra PSHE training courses. Relevant to all Secondary School staff with any interest in PSHE, RSE, safeguarding or mental health.
